Operations Based on Consumer Co-operatives Act and Articles of Incorporation

Consumer co-operatives in Japan are established and operated based on Consumer Co-operatives Act that was enacted and enforced in 1948. Articles of Incorporation were made in accordance with the actual situation of each co-op with reference to the example of articles of incorporation designed by Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare.

* Consumer Co-operatives Act was amended drastically in May 2007 after 59 years, and the revised act was enforced since April 2008.
