Social Activities

To make campuses more environmentally-friendly, we adopt recycling measures such as separating the garbage and using recyclable lunch boxes. There is an increasing number of the University Co-ops, along with respective universities, which obtain ISO14001 certification.

To remember the tragic experience of World War II, the University Co-ops conduct various activities, such as visits to the atomic bombed sites in Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well as other battlegrounds. These are great opportunities for students to think about the importance of peace.

We are also involved in international activities, such as presenting “Hiroshima Peace Trees” to overseas universities, fund-raising for UNICEF, and donations for people suffered from earthquakes, tsunami and other disasters.

The University Co-ops hold exchanges with University Co-ops in Asian countries and collaborate with the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) to strengthen the solidarity both regionally and globally.

We also carry out studies on student support services globally, such as researching welfare programs and taking part in international conferences.
