New Co-op Stores

Osaka University

Central Terrace, School of Engineering, Suita Campus

The store has long and narrow layout. Products are lined up on both sides of the aisle.

The School of Engineering at Osaka University's Suita Campus has the largest number of students in the university. Each research building is located around the Center Terrace of the School of Engineering.

The School of Engineering Co-op Store was reopened in September 2019. As the flagship store of Suita Campus, we have designed a layout and fixtures for this store to make it easier for shopping. It was a hard challenge as the store has long and narrow layout. We arranged bread, rice, beverages, snacks and stationery around the cash register near the entrance.

The atmosphere of the store is based on a design that will make students and faculty members feel at ease. We will continue to manage the store to meet the needs of our members.

Cafeteria Kasane, Student Service & Union Building, Toyonaka Campus

The dining room has glass walls on three sides, giving it an open feel. It blends in with the wood deck and surrounding trees.

Bright and clean dining hall. Dividers make it easy to sit together with others.

The Student Service & Union Building at Toyonaka Campus is located near Ishibashi Gate, where many students travel through to get around campus. It lies in a very convenient location.

Before the University Co-op became a business operator in this place, it was operated by another operator as a PFI (private finance initiative) project. However, the University Co-op started as the business operator from April 2006. As a result of discussions with Osaka University, a renovation work was decided. The University Co-op was temporarily closed in May 2007 and re-opened in February 2008.

The renovations included a hall layout and spatial design with the main focus on increasing the number of seats and creating an environment where students can gather. We also divided the café into three service lanes in order to create a flow line that makes it easier to line up. Our menu consists mainly of the same basic menu as in the other university co-op cafeterias, but we have added special features such as a kebab corner and a fried food corner. These kinds of corners are popular with students.

We aim to create a cafeteria that will make our members smile.

Visitors can choose their dishes from the counters on both sides of the cafeteria.

We provide halal menu with advice from Muslim students.

Members can also pay at the register with their Member e-Card.
