In Kyoto University Co-op, books and other products, such as CDs and DVDs, can be purchased at 10% discount.

The co-op's bookstore sells textbooks used for study, books of all genres and foreign books. It also sells application package for Japanese Language Proficiency Test and we can buy electronic dictionaries for learning Japanese cheaper than any other mass retailer at a special price for co-op members.

Every year, I buy textbooks in the co-op's bookstore when the new semester begins. I study mechanical engineering, but I have to read books on materials and physical chemistry also. This makes my book expenses so high. We will get 10% discount if we buy the textbooks at the co-op. The co-op bookstore is also conveniently close to the university. Within three years since I enrolled in Kyoto University, I was able to save about 10 000 yen, thanks to Kyoto University Co-op.
